EVERYONE IS SPINNING THE STORY.
It’s all on Twitter (which you can’t edit timestamps for, by the way, at least not easily.)
Go read @Occupy_Boston and then go read @Boston_Police
Occupy Boston posts about standing their ground and their right to protest, and to resist the police. “Cameras out!” and the like. (Which makes me sick. Let’s expect the worst out of everyone, okay? That was sarcasm.)
@Boston_Police all day yesterday tweeted at @Occupy_Boston to return to the original site to continue their peaceful protest. NOT leave, NOT break up the demonstration. To MOVE BACK TO where they were given permission to be. Occupy Boston was tweeting this whole time, responding and retweeting other posts. Why did they never retweet Boston Police’s requests for the protesters to see?
Common sense says if you refuse to relocate, police will be given orders, and they will act. Common sense also says if you RESIST ARREST, the police will have to use force to subdue you and you will also give them cause to CHARGE you will resisting arrest, even if you did nothing wrong before. (NOW you are guilty of something. Dumbass.)
I am part of the 99%. Do I believe that these protests are making the news they need to make? Absolutely not. The headlines read “100 Arrested” and are about the arrests, not the cause. Make the headlines about the cause and you will have won. You’re not doing any good right now.
